Stump Grinding

Some people just want their tree cut down. For others, the job isn’t done until the stump is ground out. Our stump crew specializes in grinding out even the trickiest stumps. Stump grinding typically goes down 6 – 8 inches under the surface, and we offer three main options.

Our Stump Grinding Services

Grind & Go

Stump mulch left behind

This is the cheapest stump grinding option. We will grind the stump, and leave the resulting pile of what we call “stump mulch” behind. The size of that pile depends on the size of the stump. That mixture of wood chips and dirt will settle down some overtime, or it can be used to fill in low spots in the yard, dumped in the woods, or placed around gardens.

Grind & Remove

Grindings removed

This option leaves your property a little neater than the Grind & Go option. We’ll grind the stump and, remove the grindings down to ground level. While this is a little more expensive, it saves you the trouble of doing it yourself, and looks better than leaving a pile of stump mulch. This is popular for trees in decorative mulch beds, or in grassy areas if you want to grow grass yourself!

Grind & Grass

Like it was never there!

This is our top of the line stump grinding option, and a real “turn-key” solution to stumps in existing turf areas. We will perform the Grind & Remove service, and then add a soil conditioner / topsoil mix, high quality grass seed, and straw over the disturbed area. In order to guarantee grass grows, you will need to water it, but once it comes in, it’ll look like the tree was never even there!
